With the new M4 iMac introduced yesterday, Apple added the long-awaited USB-C port to its Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad products, which it has not changed for a long time.
USB-C Magic Mouse charges from the same place
Yesterday, October 28, Apple introduced the new M4 processor iMac family and launched Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1. Under pressure from the European Commission, Apple switched Macs, iPads and, as of last year, iPhones, including the iPhone 15 series, to USB-C. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus come with USB-C 2 support, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max come with USB-C 3 support for up to 20 times faster data transfers. In the same year, the company reintroduced the AirPods Pro 2 model with USB-C along with the iPhone 15 series.
After Magic accessories last received an update in 2015, Apple released the Touch ID-supported Magic Keyboard with M-chip iMacs. Users complained that the new keyboard also came with a Lightning port. With the introduction of the new iMacs yesterday, Apple renamed the products on its central (US) site as Magic Mouse (USB-C), Magic Keyboard (USB-C), Magic Trackpad (USB-C). Then Magic products with USB-C went on sale in many countries, including Turkey.
The charging port at the bottom, which Apple brought with Magic Mouse 2 and which users wanted to change, is not changing. In other words, the Apple Magic Mouse (USB-C) model will continue to be powered by the same charging port on the bottom as its big brother. On its website, Apple lists the delivery time for accessories with new USB-C support as 7-10 business days. Prices at the time of writing:
